Design-Based Research in Music Education at the Early-Career Researchers Seminars

Cycle II of the Early-Career Researchers Seminars at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens continues on 14 February 2025 with the second online seminar in the series. The seminars are organised by the Music Education Laboratory and the Music, Cognitive Sciences and Community Laboratory, in collaboration with the postgraduate programme “Music Education in Formal and Informal Environments”, and include presentations and discussions on methodological and practical aspects of research.

The seminar is entitled “Design-Based Research: Using a ‘New’ Qualitative Methodological Research Approach in Music Education”. The presentation introduces core principles of Design-Based Research, the logic of iterative cycles of design and implementation, and the way this approach structures research interventions in authentic music-learning environments.
