Digital Remix Culture at the “50 Years of Greek Song 1974–2024” Conference

The scientific conference “50 Years of Greek Song 1974–2024: Sociological and Cultural Approaches” takes place on 26–27 November 2024 at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Research Dissemination Center. The conference examines the development of Greek song over the past fifty years through musicological, sociological and cultural perspectives, with themes relating to production, circulation, listening practices and the changes introduced by digital media.

Yannis Mygdanis and May Kokkidou participate with the presentation “Contemporary Digital Remix Culture in Greek Song”. The paper focuses on remix practices that develop in digital environments and on the ways material from Greek songs is reworked and recirculated through contemporary platforms and production tools.
