Pierce Little Musicians DIY Orchestra at WAAE Athens Summit 2024

WAAE Athens Summit 2024 opens on 17 October 2024 at the Teaching Center for Modern Greek Language of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with a programme combining research presentations and artistic events around the arts, education, nature and technology. Among the artistic contributions is the student performance Pierce Little Musicians DIY Orchestra, featuring primary-school students from Pierce – The American College of Greece. Digital musical instruments and tangible interfaces are used alongside piano, violin and cello.

The performance is organised through graphic scores, experimental techniques, improvisation and conventional forms of musical performance. Artistic and educational guidance includes coordinating the student ensemble and shaping the overall flow through alternation between digital and acoustic media.
