Music, the Sea and Ubiquitous Acoustic Ecologies at ISME MISTEC 2024

The International Preconference Seminar of the ISME Music in Schools and Teacher Education Commission (MISTEC) takes place in Tallinn from 22 to 26 July 2024 under the theme Sustaining and Building Resilience in Music Education. The seminar focuses on sustainability, resilience and contemporary challenges in music education through research presentations, discussions and the exchange of teaching practices.

The presentation “Designing and Implementing a STEAM Proposal Reflecting Ubiquitous Acoustic Ecologies for Connecting Music and Maritime” outlines a STEAM educational proposal linking music with the marine environment through the concept of ubiquitous acoustic ecologies and activities involving listening, soundscape, technology and musical creation.
