Blues Jam Keys v1.4 — Interactive Environment for Blues Improvisation

In January 2024, the music-education software Blues Jam Keys! is presented in version 1.4 as an online environment for practising and improvising in the blues idiom. The application is built around the twelve-bar blues form and combines a backing track, a virtual keyboard and direct musical interaction. Users can try phrases and patterns over a fixed harmonic progression without needing external music software.

Blues Jam Keys v1.4 organises practice around continuous playback of the accompaniment and improvisation on the virtual keyboard. The environment can be used to explore the blues scale, repeat short patterns and develop improvisational ideas over the twelve-bar form.
