Maria Callas, Listening and Educational Software at the 15th Musicology Conference

The 15th Interdepartmental Musicology Conference takes place in Athens from 9 to 11 November 2023 and is dedicated to the centenary of Maria Callas’s birth. Greece’s five university departments of music and musicology collaborate under the auspices of the Hellenic Musicological Society, presenting a programme that spans musicological research, music education and musical practice.

The presentation “Development and Application of Original Music-Education Software for Enhancing Listening Skills, with Maria Callas as a Point of Departure” describes the design and use of a digital listening environment built around material connected with Callas’s voice and repertoire, together with activities focused on developing aural and listening skills.
