Music Education 4.0 at BIP Oldenburg 2025

On 24 March 2025, an invited online lecture takes place within BIP Oldenburg 2025 – “Mapping Music Education Research: Psychology, Sociology and Research Methods.” The programme is jointly organised by Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and the University of Granada, bringing together different research perspectives on music education and contemporary methodological approaches.

The lecture “Music Education 4.0: Shaping a New Technocentric Music-Educational Framework Incorporating Emerging Technologies, AI, and ST(R)EAM Practices” presents the Music Education 4.0 framework through connections among music production, maker culture, coding, virtual and augmented reality, and artificial intelligence. It also considers how these practices intersect with ST(R)EAM and with experiential, technology-mediated forms of music learning.
