The Video Evan and Critical Multimodal Literacy at the Audiovisual–Film Literacy Conference

The 2nd Panhellenic Scientific Conference with International Participation “Audiovisual–Film Literacy: Viewing – Critical Approach – Creation” takes place in Chania from 27 to 29 March 2026. The conference examines the viewing, analysis and creation of audiovisual texts across educational and cultural contexts.

On 29 March 2026, May Kokkidou, A. Kondylidou and Yannis Mygdanis present online “The Video Evan as a Multimodal Critical Literacy Text in the Context of School Violence.” The paper analyses Sandy Hook Promise’s Evan as a complex audiovisual text, considering the relationship among image, music, lyrics, linguistic material and other sonic elements in relation to school violence and gun violence.
