Contemporary Technologies in Instrumental Pedagogy — Guest Lecture at NKUA

On 24 April 2024, a guest lecture takes place within “Theory, Research and Practice in Musical Instrument Teaching and Learning (M516)” at the Music Pedagogy Division, Department of Music Studies, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The session considers the role of digital media in contemporary instrumental pedagogy across both individual and group lessons.

The lecture “Contemporary Technologies and Digital Media in Musical Instrument Pedagogy” covers digital notation, performance recording, music production, creative coding, interactive applications, tangible interfaces and microcontrollers. Examples are organised around musical understanding, active inquiry and the integration of technological media with specific musical and learning objectives.
