New Technologies and Digital Media in School Music Education — Teacher Professional Development

On 20 October 2025, an online professional-development activity takes place for primary and secondary music teachers in Western Greece and the Ionian Islands, coordinated by Music Education Advisor Dr Maria Kotsopoulou with the participating Directorates of Education. The activity is organised in two parts and combines theoretical framing with practical applications for the school music classroom.

The workshop “Using New Technologies and Digital Media in School Music Education: Possibilities and Challenges (Parts A & B)” covers digital recording and music production, creative coding, interactive applications, maker practices and multimodal music creation. It also addresses criteria for selecting tools, accessibility, digital safety and the management of school infrastructure.
