Digital Musical Instruments with Scratch and Makey Makey — Workshop at NKUA

On 20 December 2021, a hands-on workshop takes place within “Teaching Practicum I (M206)” at the Music Pedagogy Division, Department of Music Studies, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The session focuses on creating digital musical instruments and connecting visual programming, physical interaction and music making within a STEAM and maker culture framework.

The workshop “Creating Digital Musical Instruments with the Scratch Visual Programming Language and the Makey Makey Interface” uses everyday objects and conductive materials as controllers for triggering and transforming digital sounds. Participants organise sonic events and musical sequences through basic coding structures and design interactive musical constructions for composition, improvisation and the exploration of musical concepts.
