The paper Maker culture activities in a music theory class at a Greek conservatoire setting: Preliminary findings from a practical intervention, co-authored with M. Papazachariou-Christoforou, was published in the Proceedings of the 2022 SEMPRE Music, Education & Technology Conference. The short paper reports initial findings from a four-month intervention integrating maker activities into a music-theory course at a Greek conservatoire.

The intervention was carried out with four children aged 6–7. Activities used Synth4Kids, Leap Motion and Makey Makey to construct tangible musical interfaces, while data were gathered through observation, semi-structured interviews, informal discussions and written formative assessment. Initial findings indicate strong participation and positive responses to a more experiential learning environment. The intervention focused on constructing tangible interfaces and using them for active music-making, allowing children to connect theoretical concepts with the manipulation of materials and technology. This short publication functions as a preliminary record of a research trajectory that was later developed into a more extensive study of maker culture in conservatoire education.
