The 7th Panhellenic Scientific Conference “Integration and Use of ICT in the Educational Process” takes place from 16 to 18 September 2022 at the University of Patras and includes research and applications concerning the use of digital technologies in education.
Y. Mygdanis and C. Charalambidou present a teaching intervention using Synth4Kids with children aged four to six. The paper focuses on the digital environment, the design of the activities and their implementation in preschool music teaching and learning.
The intervention examines how a purpose-built digital musical environment can be connected with play, listening and creation in the early years. Particular importance is placed on balancing simple interaction with explicit musical aims so that technology remains accessible without restricting creative activity. The study represents one of the early stages in the research trajectory surrounding Synth4Kids. The analysis connects software design with children’s actual use and considers how digital functions are translated into concrete musical experiences.
