A new study on Synth4Kids, co-authored with Christina Charalambidou, was published in Intellect’s International Journal of Music in Early Childhood, a scholarly journal focused on music and learning in the early years. The article Integrating current technologies into pre-school music teaching–learning: A practical intervention utilizing the educational music software Synth4kids with children aged 4–6 examines the software through its actual pedagogical implementation.
The intervention was carried out with children aged 4–6 in authentic music teaching and learning conditions. Results indicate active and enthusiastic participation together with the development of new musical and technological skills. The analysis focuses on how children interact with the software, draw on previous experiences and develop new strategies for musical action within lessons. This strengthens the empirical research base surrounding Synth4Kids by linking the original design of the tool with evidence from its use in a real educational setting. It also contributes to broader discussion of how purpose-built digital musical environments can be integrated meaningfully into early-childhood music education.
