The four-hour online seminar “Music Video in School and in Music Teaching-Learning: Analysis, Production, Editing and Educational Applications” takes place on 27 February 2022 as part of Kroustofono’s professional-development series. Music video is approached as a multimodal work combining music, image, movement and narrative.
Led by Y. Mygdanis and M. Kokkidou, the seminar includes analysis, design, production and digital editing of music video. A central focus is the relationship between sound and image and its use in music-listening and creative activities.
Analysis of music video is organised around the ways sound and image work together to shape meaning, rhythm and narrative. In the creative section, participants transfer these observations into the design of their own audiovisual material. The process connects listening with audiovisual literacy and provides a framework for composition, image selection and digital editing. The process also opens discussion of editing rhythm, visual narrative and the ways an image can alter the interpretation of the same musical excerpt.
