The international Constructionism 2025 – Building Communities, Bridging Ideas conference takes place in Zurich from 24 to 27 June 2025 and focuses on approaches in which learning develops through active creation, experimentation, and the construction of personally meaningful artefacts.
On 24 June 2025, the teaching intervention Digital Little Music Makers is presented as a 30-week project at Pierce – The American College of Greece. The project combines music production, creative making, coding, artificial intelligence, and virtual and augmented reality. Children actively participate in designing and creating musical and technological artefacts, connecting music-making with inquiry, experimentation, and problem solving.
The intervention is organised around the creation of artefacts that can be heard, modified and redesigned, making learning visible through the process of construction itself. Emphasis shifts from consuming digital media to using them creatively for composition, interaction and problem solving. The classroom therefore becomes a space where making, musical thinking and technological experimentation develop together through iterative creative work.
