In November 2024, a new cycle begins of the distance-learning professional development programme “Practical Applications of STEAM Education in Music Teaching and Learning” offered by CCE-NKUA / GO ARTS. The programme is aimed at educators and music-education professionals and focuses on connecting music with interdisciplinary learning and contemporary digital technologies.
The teaching contribution, under the academic direction of S. Chrysostomou, focuses on the design and development of STEAM-oriented music-pedagogical scenarios. Topics include music production, creative coding, digital applications, virtual, augmented and mixed reality, and artificial-intelligence tools. The emphasis is on integrating these media into practical activities for music teaching, creation, and inquiry.
Scenario design begins with explicit musical aims and organises technological and interdisciplinary elements around them. The process includes inquiry, making, testing and revision so that participants can transfer ideas into real teaching conditions. Musical creation, collaboration and problem solving are connected through activities with clear pedagogical coherence and classroom relevance.
