The 10th International Conference of the Greek Society for Music Education (GSME) takes place in Corfu from 31 October to 2 November 2025, in collaboration with the Department of Music Studies at Ionian University. The conference examines music teaching and learning across different contexts and brings together research on the functions, values, and changing practices of contemporary music education.
On 1 November 2025, four co-authored presentations are delivered. With I. Panagiotopoulou, the focus is on informal music-learning processes in a school ensemble; with D. Michail, findings are presented from a songwriting intervention in primary school; with M. Kokkidou, P. Karetsou, and M. Foulidou, music teachers’ experiences of school bullying in Music Schools are examined; and with S. Chrysostomou, the design and implementation of ST(R)EAM scenarios in primary music education are presented through the Music Education 4.0 framework. Together, the four studies address different dimensions of music learning, from creativity and informal practices to school culture and technologically mediated teaching.
Despite their different topics, the four papers converge in approaching music learning as a social, creative and changing process.
