The 2nd Panhellenic Conference “Educational Games and Art in Education and Culture” takes place in Athens from 29 to 31 October 2021 and focuses on the use of games and the arts in different learning environments.
The paper introduces three original digital music games for children preparing for entrance examinations to Greek Music Schools. The games are organised around relevant aural and musical skills and can also be used in broader practice and music-learning activities.
Each game organises practice around a specific auditory or musical skill and provides immediate feedback through short, repeatable activities. The playful format aims to reduce the monotony of examination preparation and give children more opportunities for independent practice. The applications can also be used beyond entrance examinations as supporting material for developing fundamental musical skills. Immediate feedback helps children identify difficulties and repeat activities strategically while maintaining a more flexible pace of individual preparation. This supports both focused preparation and broader development of listening skills.
