The Two-Day Contemporary Music Festival of KSYME takes place on 22–23 November 2024 at the Athens Conservatoire and includes works by Greek and international composers for electronic and electroacoustic media. The two concert evenings present different directions in contemporary music creation and sound processing.
On the second evening, AlgoFlux24, an electroacoustic work for fixed media (tape) lasting 7′38″, is presented. The work appears alongside other compositions for electronic and electroacoustic media as part of KSYME’s activity in presenting and disseminating contemporary electronic music creation.
Concert listening moves AlgoFlux24 from the compositional environment into a real acoustic space. With no live performer, attention falls on temporal organisation, dynamic change, density and the spatial impression of sound. Its presentation within a festival of varied electronic and electroacoustic approaches also allows the piece to be heard within a broader context of contemporary creation and to function as a self-contained concert work. The concert setting also makes those relationships perceptible at full listening scale.
