The KSYME Electronic Music Concert takes place on 27 June 2024 at the Athens Conservatoire and includes electronic and electroacoustic works for different combinations of media.
Two works are presented: Anaplasía, for fixed media (tape), duration 6′54″, and Simfirmós, for piano and fixed media (tape), duration 4′08″. Simfirmós takes its point of departure from Hans Richter’s Filmstudie (1926) and combines live piano with prerecorded electroacoustic material, linking musical performance with moving image and electronic sound.
The two works create a clear contrast within the same programme: Anaplasía relies entirely on prerecorded material, while Simfirmós adds the live presence of the piano. Their joint presentation highlights two different relationships among performer, electronic sound and musical form. In Simfirmós, the reference to Filmstudie also introduces moving image, extending the electroacoustic context beyond sound alone. The contrast is immediately audible in concert, with one work heard without a stage performer and the other shaped by live piano.
