The study Designing and applying educational scenarios using Synth4Kids musical educational software in preschool education, co-authored with Christina Charalambidou, was published in AIRCC’s International Journal on Integrating Technology in Education. The article examines Synth4Kids through the design and implementation of structured music-education scenarios for preschool learners.
The study focuses on activities in which musical play, creation, collaboration and interaction are embedded in authentic teaching conditions. Results indicate active and enthusiastic participation together with the development of new musical and technological skills, highlighting the importance of balancing explicit learning aims with playful and direct interaction. The scenarios are designed to connect the software’s functions with clear musical objectives so that technological interaction becomes part of the learning pathway rather than a separate feature. Together, these elements provide a more integrated account of the relationship among digital-tool design, teacher choices and children’s actual participation, showing how a purpose-built music application can be pedagogically organised for early-childhood learning.
