The paper Integrating Contemporary Technologies into Preschool Music Teaching and Learning: An Educational Intervention Using Synth4kids with Children Aged Four to Six, co-authored with Christina Charalambidou, was published in the Proceedings of the 7th Panhellenic Scientific Conference “Integration and Use of ICT in the Educational Process”. It represents one of the earliest published stages in the research trajectory surrounding the pedagogical use of Synth4Kids.
The intervention involved children aged 4–6 and examined the relationship between children’s digital experiences and the forms of music learning offered by purpose-built educational software. Results describe active and enthusiastic participation together with the development of new musical and technological skills. The paper also considers how a digital music tool can operate alongside established music-pedagogical practices and provide children with new ways of controlling and exploring sound. This publication is particularly useful as a point of comparison with later, more extensive studies developed within the same research programme on Synth4Kids.
