The international hybrid conference “Language, Education and Artificial Intelligence” takes place from 10 to 12 May 2024 and examines relationships among education, digital technologies and contemporary applications of artificial intelligence.
The presentation “Using Artificial Intelligence Tools in Primary School Music Education: Preliminary Findings from a Teaching Intervention” presents the use of AI tools in an authentic school environment and the initial data emerging from the intervention. The study examines how the tools are integrated into music teaching and the first observations arising from the learning process.
The intervention moves the discussion from general possibilities of artificial intelligence to concrete activities in musical creation and learning within the classroom. Preliminary findings are considered alongside questions of reliability, student participation and the ways in which the teacher retains control over musical and pedagogical decisions. The analysis also considers how students respond to the tools and how technological choices influence their creative initiative and participation during the learning process.
