The conference “Approaches to the Prevention and Management of School Violence and Bullying” takes place in Athens on 7–8 March 2025 and brings together research and educational approaches to identifying, preventing, and managing incidents of school violence and bullying.

A study is presented in collaboration with M. Kokkidou, P. Karetsou, and M. Foulidou, focusing specifically on Music Schools. The research explores music teachers’ perceptions of the forms of school violence and bullying they encounter, the difficulties they face in managing such incidents, and possibilities for prevention and intervention. The study approaches the issue through teachers’ own experiences and the distinctive operating conditions of Music Schools.

The study gives particular attention to teachers who are required to recognise and respond to incidents within a school environment shaped by distinctive social and musical dynamics. The discussion connects prevention with school culture, collaboration across the community and the need for clear practices of support and intervention.
