The 18th Interdepartmental Musicological Conference, themed “Contemporary Music Creation, Tradition and Renewal,” takes place in Arta from 30 October to 1 November 2026, organised by the Hellenic Musicological Society and the Department of Music Studies at the University of Ioannina. The conference brings together presentations on contemporary music-making practices and their relationships with tradition, technology and the renewal of musical practice.

Hybrid Horizons – Festival & Conference takes place at Megaron – Athens Concert Hall from 16 to 18 October 2026, organised by the Greek Composers Union and Megaron. Its programme connects contemporary music creation, technology, hybrid practices and research through artistic and scholarly activities.

The 12th International Conference of the Immersive Learning Research Network (iLRN2026) begins on 14 June 2026, combining online and virtual activities and featuring the iLEAD stream on transforming learning through immersive environments. The conference brings together research and applications related to XR, virtual reality and the design of learning experiences.

The international BIP Athens 2026 – “Mapping Music Education Research: Psychology, Sociology and Research Methods” is jointly organised by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the University of Granada and the University of Oldenburg. Three activities take place within the programme on 18 April and 21 May 2026, connecting contemporary directions in music education with post-digital practice, acoustic ecology and music creation.

The 11th International Conference “Education and Culture in the 21st Century” takes place in Piraeus on 25–26 April 2026, with the participation of the Museum of School Life and Education (EKEDISY), the Hellenic Educational Society, the University of Patras and the Glinos Foundation. The programme includes research and educational applications addressing contemporary issues in education, culture and interdisciplinary learning.

The 2nd Panhellenic Scientific Conference with International Participation “Audiovisual–Film Literacy: Viewing – Critical Approach – Creation” takes place in Chania from 27 to 29 March 2026. The conference examines the viewing, analysis and creation of audiovisual texts across educational and cultural contexts.

The 33rd European Association for Music in Schools (EAS) Conference takes place in Vienna from 8 to 11 April 2026 under the theme Advance Democracy: Participation, Diversity, and Social Cohesion in Music Education. Organised by EAS and mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, the conference focuses on participation, diversity, democracy and social cohesion through music education.

The online study day “Digital Approaches to Music Teaching in Music Schools: Teaching Proposals and Good Practices” takes place on 22 March 2026, organised by the Music Schools Working Group of the Greek Society for Music Education. The event brings together proposals and examples for the use of digital media in school and instrumental music teaching.

On 22 December 2025, a guest lecture takes place within “Music and Artificial Intelligence (M233)” at the Music Technology Division, Department of Music Studies, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The session focuses on contemporary forms of generative artificial intelligence and their relationships with composition, music production and sonic experimentation.

On 15 December 2025, an online guest lecture takes place within “Methodology of Academic Research Writing (MU492)” in the MA programme “Music Education in Formal and Informal Environments” at the Department of Music Studies, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The session addresses the use of artificial-intelligence tools in research and academic writing.

The online study day “Using STEAM Practices in the School Music Classroom: Theoretical Framework, Challenges, Practical Applications” takes place on 8 November 2025, organised by the Department of Music Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Attica. The event focuses on clarifying the STEAM framework and examining its applications in music education.

The 10th International Conference of the Greek Society for Music Education (GSME), themed “Music Teaching and Learning in Diverse Contexts: Functions, Values, Reflections,” takes place in Corfu from 31 October to 2 November 2025, in collaboration with the Department of Music Studies at Ionian University. The programme brings together research and practice addressing different contexts, approaches and issues in contemporary music education.

On 20 October 2025, an online professional-development activity takes place for primary and secondary music teachers in Western Greece and the Ionian Islands, coordinated by Music Education Advisor Dr Maria Kotsopoulou with the participating Directorates of Education. The activity is organised in two parts and combines theoretical framing with practical applications for the school music classroom.

The 18th AAATE Conference – Technology for Inclusion and Participation for All takes place in Nicosia from 10 to 12 September 2025, co-organised by the Association for the Advancement of Assistive Technology in Europe and European University Cyprus. The conference focuses on assistive technologies, inclusion and access across different learning and participation settings.

The 2nd International Regular Conference “Arts Education and Disability in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” takes place in Athens on 6–7 September 2025. Its programme connects arts education with disability, accessibility, participation and technological innovation, with particular attention to the possibilities emerging through artificial intelligence.

The international Constructionism 2025 – Building Communities, Bridging Ideas conference takes place in Zurich from 24 to 27 June 2025, organised by ETH Zurich and the Zurich University of Teacher Education (PHZH). The programme focuses on constructionist approaches to learning, design and making, with contributions connecting technology, education, object construction and participatory practices.

On 10 June 2025, the Music Schools Group of the Greek Society for Music Education organises a free online workshop for children aged 10–11, linked to preparation for the entrance examinations to Greek Music Schools. The session combines musical play, listening and practical activities organised for this age group. Time is also reserved at the end for questions from children and parents about the Music School entrance process.

On 21 May 2025, a guest lecture takes place within “Theory, Research and Practice in Musical Instrument Teaching and Learning (M516)” at the Music Pedagogy Division, Department of Music Studies, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The session focuses on the pedagogical use of contemporary digital and emerging technologies in individual and group instrumental lessons.

The second concert in the series “Around the World in… 88 Keys – In Dialogue with Today’s Composers” takes place on 16 May 2025 in the “Giannis Marinos” Hall at the Athens Concert Hall. Students of pianist and educator Elena Christodoulou perform works by contemporary Greek composers, encountering present-day piano repertoire through study and live performance. The programme includes works by sixteen contemporary creators.

On 24 March 2025, an invited online lecture takes place within BIP Oldenburg 2025 – “Mapping Music Education Research: Psychology, Sociology and Research Methods.” The programme is jointly organised by Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and the University of Granada, bringing together different research perspectives on music education and contemporary methodological approaches.

The conference “Approaches to the Prevention and Management of School Violence and Bullying” takes place in Athens on 7–8 March 2025, with the participation of the Institute of Educational Policy, the Ministry of Education and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Its programme brings together research and educational perspectives on the prevention, management and response to incidents of school violence and bullying.

Cycle II of the Early-Career Researchers Seminars at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens continues on 14 February 2025 with the second online seminar in the series. The seminars are organised by the Music Education Laboratory and the Music, Cognitive Sciences and Community Laboratory, in collaboration with the postgraduate programme “Music Education in Formal and Informal Environments”, and include presentations and discussions on methodological and practical aspects of research.

The 1st Artificial Intelligence Summit 2025 takes place on 18–19 January 2025 and is devoted to current developments in artificial intelligence, its applications and the questions arising from its use across scientific and professional fields. The WSEAS programme includes talks, presentations and sessions on emerging technologies, methods and areas of AI application.

On 9 December 2024, an online guest lecture takes place within “Contemporary Issues in Early Childhood Care and Education (EDU430)” at the School of Education Sciences, European University Cyprus. The lecture focuses on the use of digital music environments with young children and on connections among listening, play, movement and creation.

In November 2024, a new cycle of the distance-learning professional development programme “Practical Applications of STEAM Education in Music Teaching and Learning” is presented by the Center of Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens / GO ARTS. It is designed for educators and professionals interested in connecting music with contemporary technologies and interdisciplinary practices. Topics include digital applications, music production, creative coding, virtual, augmented and mixed reality, and artificial intelligence tools.

The scientific conference “50 Years of Greek Song 1974–2024: Sociological and Cultural Approaches” takes place on 26–27 November 2024 at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Research Dissemination Center. The conference examines the development of Greek song over the past fifty years through musicological, sociological and cultural perspectives, with themes relating to production, circulation, listening practices and the changes introduced by digital media.

The Two-Day Contemporary Music Festival of KSYME takes place on 22–23 November 2024 at the Athens Conservatoire, in Room K3 of the KSYME Studio. Across two concert evenings, the Center for Contemporary Music Research presents works by Greek and international composers, including electronic and electroacoustic music for different media and sound combinations.

The third concert in the series “100 Works by Contemporary Greek Composers” takes place on 23 November 2024 at 19:00 at the Lykovrysi–Pefki Municipal Theatre. The series brings together works by contemporary Greek composers in successive concerts involving performers, music schools and collaborating artists. This concert is presented with free admission.

The online experiential workshop “From Inspiration to the Classroom – From Preparation to Action” takes place on 23 November 2024, organised by the Music Education Laboratory of the Department of Music Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens together with CCE-NKUA / GO ARTS. Four practising music teachers present different routes for lesson design, from the initial idea and preparation of materials to classroom implementation. The session is organised as a sequence of short, practice-oriented workshops.

The 7th Acoustic Ecology Conference “Soundscapes, Biophony and the Climate Crisis” takes place from 7 to 10 November 2024 in Athens and Ancient Epidaurus. The programme connects acoustic ecology with biodiversity, environmental listening, technology and education, and includes research presentations, artistic events and discussions about the sonic environment. Themes also include sound recording, mapping, sound analysis and machine listening.

The experiential professional development event “Marine Literacy and Education through the Creative Arts: The Mediterranean Example” takes place on 2 November 2024 at the Cultural Center of European University Cyprus. The programme focuses on the relationship between education, the creative arts and the marine environment, and includes a music-and-storytelling performance together with four experiential workshops. It is aimed at educators and professionals interested in activities related to the Mediterranean and marine literacy.

The 5th Panhellenic Conference “Educational Games and Art in Education and Culture” takes place online on 2–3 November 2024. The conference examines the role of play and artistic practices in formal, non-formal and cultural learning environments and includes keynote talks, research presentations and workshops. Its programme brings together perspectives from different arts and educational fields.

The second concert in the series “100 Works by Contemporary Greek Composers” takes place on 3 November 2024 at 19:00 in the concert hall of the Mousiki Praxi Conservatoire in Athens. Organised by the conservatoire’s Classical Department, the event forms part of the wider series devoted to works by contemporary Greek composers, under the auspices of the Alypios Music School and Mousiki Praxi Conservatoire. Admission is free.

The first concert in the series “100 Works by Contemporary Greek Composers” takes place on 19 October 2024, opening a sequence of performances devoted to contemporary Greek composition. The concert brings together the Alypios Music School, the Mousiki Ekpaidefsi Conservatory, the Municipality of Haidari and collaborating musicians and artists who perform new works. The programme includes compositions for a range of instrumental combinations.

The educational workshop “Space-Themed Fruity Musical Instruments!” takes place on 3 November 2024 at Baby Maestro Cyprus and is designed for children aged 6–9. The session centres on musical experimentation with everyday materials and digital technologies, turning fruit, water, coins and other objects into elements of an improvised musical environment. The activities follow a theme inspired by space.

WAAE Athens Summit 2024 opens on 17 October 2024 at the Teaching Center for Modern Greek Language of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with a programme combining research presentations and artistic events around the arts, education, nature and technology. Among the artistic contributions is the student performance Pierce Little Musicians DIY Orchestra, featuring primary-school students from Pierce – The American College of Greece. Digital musical instruments and tangible interfaces are used alongside piano, violin and cello.

The WAAE Athens Summit 2024 takes place in Athens from 17 to 19 October 2024 under the central theme Arts, Nature, Technology, Education: Harmony in Unity. Its programme includes presentations, workshops and artistic activities exploring relationships among the arts, education, technology, nature and sustainability. Researchers, educators and artists from different countries take part in the summit.

The Athens Inclusive Education Project is presented on 28 September 2024 at the ACG Events Hall of The American College of Greece, through a collaboration with George Mason University and the American Community Schools of Athens, with support from the U.S. Embassy in Athens. The professional-development programme includes themes related to inclusive education, Universal Design for Learning and support for students with diverse educational needs.

The 1st Summer Meeting of the Greek Society for Music Education takes place from 26 to 28 August 2024 at the Music School of Kalamata under the theme “Paths of Musical Improvisation: Expression, Creation, Educational Experience”. Three days of workshops, music-making and professional exchange are organised around different forms of improvisation and their place in musical practice and education.

The 36th World Conference of the International Society for Music Education (ISME) takes place in Helsinki from 28 July to 2 August 2024 under the central theme Advocacy for Sustainability in Music Education. The conference brings together researchers, educators, musicians and music-education professionals from around the world through research sessions, presentations and events addressing contemporary approaches to music learning.

The International Preconference Seminar of the ISME Music in Schools and Teacher Education Commission (MISTEC) takes place in Tallinn from 22 to 26 July 2024 under the theme Sustaining and Building Resilience in Music Education. The seminar focuses on sustainability, resilience and contemporary challenges in music education through research presentations, discussions and the exchange of teaching practices.

The KSYME Electronic Music Concert takes place on 27 June 2024 at 19:00 in Room K3 of the Athens Conservatoire. The programme includes electronic and electroacoustic works for tape, piano and electronic media, together with compositions by students and creators associated with the Center for Contemporary Music Research’s activities in music technology and composition.

In May 2024, the results of the 14th International Student Short Film Competition “Cinema… Did You Read?” are announced, with the student film “Iliou Elpida…” by the Pierce Primary School Film Club among the awarded entries. The film approaches the subject of war through a child’s perspective and is created collaboratively by the students of the club.

On 1 June 2024, the Music Schools Group of the Greek Society for Music Education organises a free Zoom workshop for children aged 10–11. The workshop is intended for children preparing for entrance examinations to Greek Music Schools and is structured around playful aural, rhythmic and musical challenges. Time is also reserved after the workshop for questions from children and parents about the examination process.

Cycle I of the Early-Career Researchers Seminars at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens concludes on 24 May 2024 with the sixth online seminar in the series. The seminars are organised by the Music Education Laboratory and the Music, Cognitive Sciences and Community Laboratory together with the postgraduate programme “Music Education in Formal and Informal Environments”, and address different aspects of research methodology, academic practice and professional development.

The award-winning play “Paidia tou Patros”, written and directed by Stefanos Kakavoulis, is staged at Mikro Gloria Theatre from 10 to 28 May 2024. The production follows adults who are brought face to face again with a traumatic past and develops around questions of abuse of power, faith, memory and personal responsibility. The play returns to the Athens stage for a new run of performances.

Athens Urban Picnic takes place on 1 May 2024 at Plato’s Academy Park with a full-day programme for children and families. Theatre, creative workshops, games and ecology-related activities form part of the day, while music and technology come together in activities designed specifically for children.

The international hybrid conference “Language, Education and Artificial Intelligence” takes place from 10 to 12 May 2024, connecting research perspectives from language studies, education and digital interactive technologies. The programme includes themes on applications of artificial intelligence, changes in educational practice and research questions arising from the use of new digital tools.

On 24 April 2024, a guest lecture takes place within “Theory, Research and Practice in Musical Instrument Teaching and Learning (M516)” at the Music Pedagogy Division, Department of Music Studies, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The session considers the role of digital media in contemporary instrumental pedagogy across both individual and group lessons.

On 24 April 2024, a guest lecture takes place within “The Interdisciplinary Approach to Music Teaching (M229)” at the Music Pedagogy Division, Department of Music Studies, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The session addresses interdisciplinary organisation in music teaching and the place of music within a coherent STEAM framework.

The hybrid study day “Issues in Music Pedagogy and Piano and Guitar Performance – Challenges, Problems, Prospects” takes place on 6 April 2024 at Lanitio Lyceum in Limassol and online. It is addressed to instrumental teachers, students, academics and Music School pupils and includes presentations on contemporary questions in instrumental teaching, practice and performance.

The KSYME Electronic Music Class Concert takes place on 29 February 2024 at 19:00 in the KSYME Studio, Room K3 of the Athens Conservatoire. The programme brings together first-semester works from the Electronic Music class and includes different forms of electronic and electroacoustic composition.

In February 2024, a choral recording of “Peace”, a setting of poetry by Yannis Ritsos from the collection Agrypnia, is released digitally. The work is performed by the Pierce Primary School Choir of The American College of Greece and is based on an original musical setting of the poem. The recording is produced within the school’s choral activity and distributed digitally through CD Baby.

In January 2024, the music-education software Blues Jam Keys! is presented in version 1.4 as an online environment for practising and improvising in the blues idiom. The application is built around the twelve-bar blues form and combines a backing track, a virtual keyboard and direct musical interaction. Users can try phrases and patterns over a fixed harmonic progression without needing external music software.

The children’s book “Charis and Faris” by Giota K. Alexandrou is presented on 3 February 2024 at 12:30 at IANOS in Athens. The SUSAETA Editions event combines a book presentation, puppet-theatre elements and live music, introducing the story of two children who do not speak the same language and find a shared way of communicating through play. The event is also streamed online through IANOS channels.

For the Christmas period, Guess the Emojis – Christmas Edition is designed as an interactive digital music game for classroom use. Developed in Canva, the game is organised into ten levels of increasing difficulty, with five puzzles in each level, in which students identify familiar Christmas songs from combinations of emojis. It can be used individually or in teams.

The professional development programme “The Digital World in Music Education and Culture: Sources, Tools and Techniques” begins on 4 December 2023, has a total duration of 450 hours, and runs for seven months, combining in-person and distance-learning sessions. The CCE-NKUA programme is organised around the changes digital media bring to music education and culture and includes tools, platforms, resources and practical applications. Smaragda Chrysostomou serves as the academic and scientific lead.

The workshop “Sounds & Blips” takes place at the MUSIX Lab of the Athens Concert Hall from 5 November to 3 December 2023 and is designed for children aged 7–11. Organised by the Friends of Music Society, the activity connects basic ideas of electricity, electronic circuits and musical sound through play and hands-on construction. Children use littleBits and other materials to build simple electronic musical instruments. Each session lasts 90 minutes.

The Two-Day Contemporary Music Festival of KSYME takes place on 1–2 December 2023 at the Athens Conservatoire and is dedicated to the memory of Haris Xanthoudakis. The Center for Contemporary Music Research organises two concert evenings featuring works by Greek and international composers across different forms of contemporary music for acoustic, electronic and mixed media.

The Music Coin DJs workshop takes place on 26 November 2023 at the MUSIX Lab of the Athens Concert Hall and is designed for children aged 7–10. Coins, cables and electronic circuits provide the starting point for musical experimentation as participants explore how everyday objects operate as controls for rhythms, melodies and digital sounds. The workshop lasts 90 minutes.

Digital Vegan Orchestra takes place at the MUSIX Lab of the Athens Concert Hall from 5 November to 3 December 2023 and is designed for children aged 6–8. Fruit, cables, circuits and computers become materials for musical experimentation as children explore different ways of triggering sounds and constructing improvised digital musical instruments. Each session lasts 90 minutes.

The online experiential workshop “From Programming to Sound and from Code to Music: Practical Applications in the Music Lesson” takes place on 25 November 2023, organised by the Music Education Laboratory of the Department of Music Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The session is designed for educators and others interested in connecting programming and music through practical STEAM activities. Participation is free of charge, with a certificate of attendance provided.

The professional-development programme “Learning Music through Programming and Programming through Music” begins on 20 November 2023 and has a total duration of 125 hours. Organised by the Scientific Association for the Promotion of Educational Innovation (EEPEK), it is addressed to teachers, adult educators, staff in formal and non-formal education, graduates and students. Its content connects core programming concepts with musical activities and digital creation.

The 15th Interdepartmental Musicology Conference takes place in Athens from 9 to 11 November 2023 and is dedicated to the centenary of Maria Callas’s birth. Greece’s five university departments of music and musicology collaborate under the auspices of the Hellenic Musicological Society, presenting a programme that spans musicological research, music education and musical practice.

The 9th International Conference for the Promotion of Educational Innovation takes place in Larissa from 20 to 22 October 2023, bringing together educators, researchers and education professionals around new teaching approaches, technologies and practices in school and higher education. The programme includes research papers and presentations of applications from a wide range of subject areas.

On 16 October 2023, “A Successful Poem” is released digitally as a new song based on poetry by Kostis Gimosoulis. Distributed through CD Baby, the release is available on digital music platforms and sets the poem to music through voice and contemporary production.

On 18 September 2023, the children’s book “Charis and Faris” by Giota K. Alexandrou is published by SUSAETA Editions. The story follows two children who do not speak the same language and find a shared way of communicating through play. The 48-page book is intended for ages 5+, features illustrations by Fotini Tikkou, and includes an appendix with group games and activity suggestions.

The 13th Panhellenic/International Conference “ICT in Education” takes place from 29 September to 1 October 2023 at the International Hellenic University in Kavala. The programme of the Hellenic Scientific Association of Information and Communication Technologies in Education includes research papers and educational applications concerning digital technologies, e-learning and the integration of ICT across different levels of education.

Following the Forum for Young Researchers II of CCE-NKUA, a participatory music presentation takes place on 4 July 2023 in Room 917 of the School of Philosophy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The activity brings together participants from the programmes “Music Practice and Learning”, “The Digital World in Music Education and Culture” and “Learning Ukulele”, as well as members of the audience. The music-making is organised without prior rehearsal and relies on immediate interaction among participants.

The performance Diadromes is presented on 7 July 2023 at the Blackbox Theater of Deree – The American College of Greece as part of Pierce Leadership Academy 2023. It is a collaborative theatre project developed over four days by middle- and high-school students, who take part in shaping different elements of the production. Overall coordination is by Giannos Tsatalis, Maria Saliari, Christoforos and Yannis Mygdanis.

The 30th European Association for Music in Schools (EAS) Conference and the 9th ISME European Regional Conference take place in Lyon from 24 to 27 May 2023 under the theme Liberty, Equity, Creativity: Innovating and Inventing Music in the Classroom. The joint conference brings together music educators and researchers from across Europe through presentations focusing on creativity, equity, innovation and contemporary classroom practice.

On 29 March 2023, a guest lecture takes place within “The Interdisciplinary Approach to Music Teaching (M229)” at the Music Pedagogy Division, Department of Music Studies, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The session forms part of the exploration of interdisciplinary approaches to music teaching and considers ways of connecting music, technology, making and creative experimentation.

The International Conference on Music Education Technology 2023 takes place in Hong Kong from 10 to 12 January 2023 under the central theme Unfold the Future of Music Education through Technology. Organised by the Department of Cultural and Creative Arts at The Education University of Hong Kong, the programme focuses on emerging technologies in music education and on forms of teaching, creation and interaction developing across digital and hybrid environments.

The 3rd Panhellenic Conference “Educational Games and Art in Education and Culture” takes place in Athens on 5–6 November 2022. The conference brings together papers and workshops on play, the arts and their use across school, educational and cultural settings, with contributions from different levels of education and subject areas.

The online study day “STEAM Education in the Music Lesson” takes place on 1 November 2022, organised by the Regional Centre for Educational Planning of the Peloponnese. The event focuses on connecting music with interdisciplinary STEAM practices and on applications using digital tools and programming for creative activities in the music classroom.

The 7th Panhellenic Scientific Conference “Integration and Use of ICT in the Educational Process” takes place from 16 to 18 September 2022 at the Conference and Cultural Center of the University of Patras. The conference brings together research and applications concerning the use of digital technologies across different levels of education and the design of contemporary learning environments.

The international Music and Eye-Tracking conference takes place on 7–8 July 2022, organised by the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics in hybrid format. Its programme includes presentations by researchers using eye-tracking technologies to investigate music perception, reading, performance and other forms of musical interaction. This contribution is delivered online within the virtual presentations programme.

The online workshop “Designing STEAM Scenarios in Music Teaching-Learning: New Perspectives, New Challenges” takes place on 25 May 2022, organised by the LifeLong Music Engagement Research Unit of SoScieAtH at European University Cyprus. The session focuses on the design of interdisciplinary activities connecting music with science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics.

The joint SEMPRE Music, Education & Technology / Teaching Music Online in Higher Education conference takes place online on 7–8 April 2022 and focuses on the relationship between music education and technology, as well as forms of teaching that develop in digital and distance-learning environments. The programme includes research presentations from a range of educational levels and music-learning contexts.

The 9th Conference of the Greek Society for Music Education takes place online from 15 to 17 April 2022 under the theme “Music Education in a Changing World: Identities, Values, Experiences”. The programme includes research papers, presentations and discussions on contemporary challenges in music education, diverse learning environments and the use of new tools and media.

The invited seminar takes place on 28 March 2022 at the Department of Music Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in Room 741, as part of the course “Interdisciplinary Approaches to Music Teaching”. The session focuses on the possibilities of STE(A)M in the music classroom and on the use of physical and digital media within a single creative activity.

The four-hour online seminar “Music Video in School and in Music Teaching-Learning: Analysis, Production, Editing and Educational Applications” takes place on 27 February 2022 as part of Kroustofono’s annual professional development series “Music and the Arts in Education Today”. The session approaches music video as a multimodal object in which sound, image, narrative, movement and digital editing coexist.

On 20 December 2021, a hands-on workshop takes place within “Teaching Practicum I (M206)” at the Music Pedagogy Division, Department of Music Studies, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The session focuses on creating digital musical instruments and connecting visual programming, physical interaction and music making within a STEAM and maker culture framework.

On 19 December 2021, an online workshop is organised by the LifeLong Music Engagement Research Unit of SoScieAtH at European University Cyprus, focusing on creative coding in music education. The session is designed for participants without required prior programming experience and approaches code as a medium for musical expression and experimentation.

The 6th Acoustic Ecology Conference takes place in Thessaloniki from 19 to 21 November 2021 and focuses on relationships among the acoustic environment, digital culture and audiovisual narratives. The programme includes research and artistic approaches to listening, soundscape, technology and the use of audiovisual media in educational and creative settings.

The 2nd Panhellenic Conference “Educational Games and Art in Education and Culture” takes place in Athens from 29 to 31 October 2021. The conference focuses on the use of play and artistic activities in contemporary educational and cultural environments and includes papers, examples of practice and workshops from different subject areas.

The 2nd Online Study Day of the Greek Society for Music Education, entitled Back to School #music_for_all, takes place on 10 October 2021 and includes workshops and presentations offering practical ideas for the music classroom. The event is addressed to music educators and is delivered entirely online.

On 24 April 2021, an online seminar is organised by the String Instrument Pedagogy Group of the Greek Society for Music Education (GSME). The session approaches music video as a multimodal field of creation and examines relationships among image, sound, movement and narrative in music teaching and learning activities.

The online workshop takes place on 14 April 2021, organised by the LifeLong Music Engagement Research Unit of SoScieAtH at European University Cyprus, and focuses on informal processes of music teaching and learning during the COVID-19 period. The session examines musical communication, collaboration and collective creation in distance-learning settings through examples of online music-making practice.

The eight-hour online seminar “Multimodality and Technological Applications in Song Teaching (19+1 Ways to Teach a Song)” takes place on 24 January 2021 as part of Kroustofono’s annual professional development series “Music and the Arts in Education Today”. The session examines different ways of approaching a song in music education by combining listening, performance, language, image, movement and digital media.

On 5 December 2020, an online music-technology seminar is organised by the Greek Society for Music Education (GSME), focusing on Christmas-themed music activities for distance teaching. The session is organised around web-based tools that can be used directly in music-learning activities.

On 6 December 2020, an online professional workshop is organised by the LifeLong Music Engagement Research Unit of SoScieAtH at European University Cyprus. The activity focuses on integrating visual programming and tangible interfaces into music teaching through an interdisciplinary STEAM framework.

The 12th Interdepartmental Musicological Conference takes place online from 27 to 29 November 2020, involving the Hellenic Musicological Society and university Departments of Music and Musicology in Greece. The conference spans different areas of musicological research and includes historical, theoretical and pedagogical contributions.

On 14 November 2020, an online seminar takes place within Kroustofono’s annual professional-development series “Music and the Arts in Contemporary Education.” The session focuses on music creation and production in distance-learning environments, with particular attention to Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs).

On 21 November 2020, an online seminar takes place within Kroustofono’s annual professional-development series “Music and the Arts in Contemporary Education.” The session addresses the integration of contemporary technologies into music teaching and learning and considers applications suitable for both online and face-to-face settings.

Within the 34th World Conference of the International Society for Music Education (ISME), the paper is included in the Forum for Instrumental and Vocal Teaching with a presentation date of 30 July 2020. The event had originally been scheduled for Helsinki, but the World Conference was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Parts of the programme moved to online sessions, while the published proceedings document the original conference programme.

The 7th Scientific Conference “Designing Teaching, Professional Development & Vocational Training for Specialist Teachers” takes place in Athens on 28–29 January 2020, organised by ASPETE and the Association of Primary Education Music Teachers. The conference focuses on the design of teaching and professional-development provision for educators across different subject areas.
